Tonight, we went to our local mall, which is very small. As we were walking past the tables in the food court area (made up of Chick-Fil-A and a bunch of tables in the center area of the mall) I noticed a table sign that read the mall is having a mother/daughter look alike contest. I think I might enter a picture of Fabul-O and me*. I have blue eyes, she has brown. I have sort of blonde hair, she has the most gorgeous dark locks. She doesn’t glow in the dark and isn’t pasty white. So the physical stuff is a bit off, but if you look at our hearts and souls we are dead ringers. Whatcha’ll think?

to sing and to dance
Unfortunately, this sounds like the beginning of the long paths our daughters have in front of them…in which adopted children don’t ‘really’ count. There’s the school family-tree projects, the gene pool projects, the “star for a week” baby pictures on the school walls.
We really have to be crafty to bring it to the attention of those that do not understand. I say, go for it! And I agree, Cady doesn’t have my smile, but I know I’m doing something right by the way it shines so brightly.

I think you should do it! Even if the organizers don’t quite understand, we all do.

Do it. It’s fun & when those judging the contest see you, they will smile as will anyone should your photos be posted.
Might as well buy matching colored shirts for the occasion? Maybe matching sunglasses perched on your heads?
It will be great!
