Today begins the Chinese New Year.  2009 is the year of the ox.

May the New Year ring in happiness, success and propserity.

Olivia: Whoops.

Me: What?

Olivia: A froggie was in my tushie. (she had gas)

Me: (giggle/snort) What do you say?

Olivia:  Here’s the rest of them.

Like the lack of posts don’t scream it loudly enough.   I need to do a little regrouping.   Ya’ll hang in there with me.  I’ll be back soon.

Last night Will and I saw the Eagles in concert.   If any of you have a chance to catch it in your town, I highly recommend it.

There’s a blog I follow who linked to Abby’s blog.  Before tonight, I’ve never visited Abby’s blog nor do I know this family.  What I do know is how reading about this little girl reminded me just how lucky and blessed we are.  My heart was touched and tugged at the same time.

The video shows an amazing little girl and there will be a need for a tissue.

There are things that constantly remind me that I need to count my blessings and name them.  Last night I watched Olivia sleep and I cried.  I cried because this perfect little person was just that – a little person.  I picked her up from her bed and held her for just a minute.  She woke up and told me, “I love you mommy.  Let me lay back down because I’m sleeping.”

We celebrated a birthday for Olivia.  This family celebrates every day.  If you will, offer up a prayer, good wish or whatever you will.  Not only for this family, but for all families who face struggles whatever they may be.

Olivia turns four today.

Our conversation went a little something like this:

Me: Good morning, birthday girl!

Olivia: Good morning, Mommy.  I’m a big girl today.

Me: Yes, you are.  How does it feel to be the birthday girl?

Olivia: Feels okay.  Sort of like yesterday.  You know, mommy, the threes are gone and the fours are here.  It’s going to be a good year.

We’re hoping for a fantastic 2009.  Happy birthday, Olivia…we love you bunches and bunches.

Donna and Joe have waited a loooong time for Lauren and they’re finally a family.  Pop on over and give them some love.

I have lots of updating to do, I know, but there has been so much going on that I’ve not had a chance to catch my breath much less blog.

My dear friend Wendy’s husband is getting ready to leave for his second tour in Iraq.  Those who have read my blog for a while may remember I met Wendy on a forum for Navy wives (we were Navy then) and we became friends and have remained so for almost four years.   When we first met, I didn’t know Will had been assigned to Danny’s unit.  Wendy and I were becoming friends here and they were there.  Kismet.

I support all our military and each of them holds a spot in my heart, but those who are our friends have an even bigger spot.  So, as Danny, Wendy and their beautiful children begin this journey, we hold them in our thoughts and prayers.  We want Danny and all his fellow Seabees to return home safe and sound.

It’s What Day?!?
